This is one of my personal favorites. I took the image for this painting in the park behind my backyard while walking my dog. I love how intimate the composition is, and how moody the light and shadows are. I printed the image in black-and-white on matte paper and hand-painted several layers of oil paint followed by oil pastels to get a rich depth of color. I colored it a bit differently than it actually appeared at the time I took the photo, adding to the intensity of the mood. I finished off the details in the pistil with oil pen and pencils. I am so happy with how this one turned out. How do you like it?
