This captivating flower is the blossom from a sausage tree. I took the image for this painting at Fort DeRussy Beach Park in Waikiki, in the grassy park before you get to the beach. The ground was fully strewn with these blossoms, and their shapes and colors mesmorized me. I can only wonder what folks thought of this odd woman kneeling low to the ground snapping shots from every angle of a fallen flower. This one in particular struck me, and I hope you like it, too.
