This is my absolute favorite painting I have made to date. There is nothing quite as refreshing as a stroll along the beach at sunset - the breeze, the scent of the ocean, the magical colors of the sky reflected in the water. I took the image for this painting while taking a restful evening walk on Lanikai Beach. The image was transferred to birch wood panel, and then I hand-painted it directly on the wood with oil paints and pastels. I love how the grain of the wood adds texture and depth to this piece.
